Collagen injections are used for soft tissue augmentation to either improve the facial contour or for wrinkle reduction. The effects of this are similar to fat grafting.
Areas where soft tissue augmentation or wrinkle reduction is desired. Common areas include upper lip, depressed scars, nasolabial folds. Please schedule a consultation to find out if this or any other forms of augmentation are best for you.
A skin test is needed one month prior to collagen injection. This will let us know if there is a risk of foreign body reaction. If no reaction is noted, the injection is performed in the office at the desired areas.
The area of injection is initially swollen and this will resolve over next few days. Patient will notice an immediate change. Repeat injections may be needed following resolution of edema.
