Dr. Kumar completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia, earning a BS in economics. He went to medical school at Medical College of Georgia followed by the Medical College of Wisconsin where he completed his plastic surgery residency. He completed a one-year fellowship at Emory University and did his general surgery residency program at Brookdale Hospital in New York.
Dr. Kumar is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Surgeons with this certification have completed a minimum of five years of surgical training following medical school, including a plastic surgery residency program. After training, a surgeon must pass comprehensive oral and written exams before earning certification.
At both national and international conferences, Dr. Kumar has been recognized for his clinical research and innovations in craniofacial surgery and breast reconstruction.
Dr. Kumar is committed to understanding and caring for the individual needs and aspirations of each of his patients. With patient safety paramount, his goal is to utilize his extensive surgical experience and expertise to achieve the best results possible.
Father of four, Dr. Kumar and his wife, Kavita, enjoy hiking and camping with their children, ages 1 to 9.
